On October 3rd, a seminar for business executives organized by Tanabe Consulting (Tanabe Management) and called “Tourism Business Growth Strategy” was held at the Halekulani Hotel in Hawaii. The seminar had the theme of “learning from Hawaii, a tourism powerhouse, with high added value, high unit price, high profit model, and inbound rapid growth in local branding strategy.” Lectures were given by five people from the Hawaii Tourism Bureau and local companies from various industries.

Kuni Yamamoto, the representative of Clarence Lee Design (CLD), introduced the branding process and explained how to use the branding model. Then he introduced local branding examples that CLD has worked on as a “branding model” for companies, products, and services.  He also gave a lecture on the activities of the “111-HAWAII PROJECT,” a regional activity program launched by CLD as a local  model of “regional revitalization.” The participants gave feedback such as “I understand how to use branding now” and “I realized that my thinking was important when involving other businesses.”
