Japan Hawaii Culture Expo
Exhibit Design / Event Identity
Client: Hawaii Senior Life Enrichment Association
“Honolulu Festival” is one Hawaii’s biggest events where Hawaii, Japan and Pacific share the rich and vibrant blend of cultures. Upon HISLEA (Hawaii Senior Life Enrichment Association) hosting a “Japan-Hawaii Culture Expo” at this premier cultural event, they needed a branding including the booth. The task was to be unique and to stand out in a huge venue.
An impactful visual branding with an effective color strategy stood out remarkably, attracting many people amongst many other booths.
The typographic logo of which “Japan” and “Hawaii” are connected intuitively conveys the idea of “introducing the Japanese traditional culture and art, and to enrich the interchange between Japan and Hawaii”. Also, the booth was displayed with just the brand color, Japan Red, to make it stand out even in a huge venue where many booths gathered. This booth had a strong impact even from far away, attracting many people. The expo will be held every year due to its success in 2011.

Environmental Graphics / Logo
The red booth configured with the wall graphics stood up remarkably within the convention.
